Manchester United respond after Cristiano Ronaldo reveals he wants to leave

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has asked to leave the club this summer.

The Portuguese international has reportedly asked to be allowed to leave Manchester United should the Red Devils receive a satisfactory offer.

The 37 year old forward reportedly wants to leave Manchester United because he wants to continue playing in the Champions League for the remainder of his career.

Ronaldo has never missed Champions League football since leaving Sporting Lisbon for Manchester United in 2003.

Manchester United have now responded after Cristiano Ronaldo revealed he wants to leave the club this summer.

According to Samuel Luckhurst, Manchester United insist Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t for sale this summer.

Ronaldo has a contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2023 and the Red Devils expect the Portugal captain to respect his contract with the club.

The 37 year old forward scored 24 goals in all competitions last season, finishing as United’s top scorer, but was unable to help them qualify for the Champions League.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly met with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss his situation at Manchester United and the idea of him switching to Chelsea.

Bayern Munich are also believed to be interested in signing Ronaldo this summer with Robert Lewandowski keen on leaving the German side for Barcelona.

PSG are not currently among the clubs interested in pursuing Ronaldo in this window.
