Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed he recently had a dinner with the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo but refused to reveal whether he discussed signing the Manchester United forward.
Cristiano Ronaldo has asked to leave Manchester United this summer ahead of the 2022-23 football season.
Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Manchester United so he can play Champions League football next season. The Red Devils would play in the Europa League next season after finishing sixth in the Premier League.
Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been linked with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
Laporta has confirmed that he did have dinner with Mendes to discuss transfer business but was not prepared to reveal whether Ronaldo was mentioned.
“I’m not going to talk about the players we discussed at dinner,” Laporta told reporters on Wednesday.
“It’s always interesting to talk to him and find out about certain players on the market.”
Ronaldo has failed to return for pre-season and there are doubts the 37 year old forward might not be involved in Manchester United’s tour of Thailand and Australia.
