According to Mike Verweij of Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf, Ajax star Lisandro Martinez believes he can triple his Ajax salary by joining Manchester United.

Lisandro is keen on leaving Ajax for the Premier League this summer and is pushing the Dutch club to accept Manchester United’s latest offer.

Manchester United have reportedly submitted a new bid of €50million including bonuses for Lisandro and Ajax will make a decision on Manchester United’s latest offer on Friday.

Manchester United previously submitted a bid of £38million for the Argentine defender, who was named Ajax Player of the Year, but Ajax rejected Manchester United’s offer.

Lisandro is a versatile player who can play as a centre-back, left-back and defensive midfielder. Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag considers him as a priority target for this summer.

The Red Devils have no intention to give up on signing Lisandro and are confident the latest bid for the centre-back will be accepted by Ajax.

Premier League rivals Arsenal are also interested in signing Lisandro this summer but Manchester United remain confident the player will move to Old Trafford due to his good relationship with Ten Hag.

Meanwhile, Paul Merson believes Denmark international Christian Eriksen is the player Manchester United have been calling out for.

“Christian Eriksen is the player Man Utd have been calling out for. He’s a quality player, top drawer. He sprays the ball round the pitch, makes things happen,” Merson told Sky Sports News.

He continued: “That’s what they need. A lot of teams come to Old Trafford and there is no fear factor anymore, so the game will open up and he can break people down.

“I’m a massive Eriksen fan, I’m surprised every club in the country wasn’t after him. I mean that would be a massive coup for Man Utd.”
