Manchester United are closing in on a deal for goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, according to talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old Albanian international is a free agent after leaving Serie A side Lazio this summer.

He made 23 Serie A appearances for Lazio last season and another 8 appearances in the Europa League.

Manchester United made contact with the agent of Strakosha after Dean Henderson left Manchester United on loan for Nottingham Forest.

Premier League side Fulham contacted the goalkeeper about signing him this summer before opting to sign Bernd Leno from Arsenal instead.

Forest, Leicester and Chelsea had also been linked with Strakosha after his Lazio contract ended.

Meanwhile, according to Mike Verweij of Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf, Ajax star Lisandro Martinez believes he can triple his Ajax salary by joining Manchester United.

Lisandro is keen on leaving Ajax for the Premier League this summer and is pushing the Dutch club to accept Manchester United’s latest offer.

Manchester United have reportedly submitted a new bid of €50million including bonuses for Lisandro but Ajax are yet to either accept or reject the offer.

Man United previously submitted a bid of £38million for the Argentine defender, who was named Ajax Player of the Year, but Ajax rejected Man United’s offer.

Lisandro is a versatile player who can play as a centre-back, left-back and defensive midfielder. Man United boss Erik ten Hag considers him as a priority target for this summer.
