Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is not interested in a move to Manchester United this summer, according to Patrick Berger of Sport1.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag made the Barcelona midfielder a top transfer target this summer but the former Ajax midfielder is reportedly not interested in a move to Manchester United.
De Jong is also reportedly not happy with how Barcelona have treated him after the Spanish side went into negotiations with Manchester United for his transfer.
The Dutch midfielder is now back at Barcelona after his summer vacation and a transfer to Man United this summer is reportedly unlikely.
Meanwhile, Man United boss Erik ten Hag has hailed the qualities of Man United left-back Tyrell Malacia.
The 22 year old Dutch international left-back joined Man United from Dutch club Feyenoord this summer.
According to Ten Hag, Malacia suits the profile of the type of players he wants at Man United.
Speaking about Malacia, Ten Hag said: “He’s a player, so I think he’s the modern left-back or full-back.
“He suits the profile and most important is, from every full-back, that he closes the right area, but he can also take part in the offensive side of our game, and he can do that really well. And I think he will really contribute to the team.”
