Tyrell Malacia made his first Manchester United appearance in the 4-0 pre-season victory over Liverpool on Tuesday in Thailand.

The Dutch international left-back came on for Luke Shaw in the beginning of the second-half.

Malacia is the only signing that Manchester United have made this summer, with the 22 year old joining from Dutch club Feyenoord in a deal worth €15million.

Speaking after his first outing in a Manchester United shirt, Malacia said: “I’m very happy. It feels amazing to be here and to wear this shirt.

“It was difficult. It was very hard, but we made it.”

On what fans can expect from him, Malacia added: “Some good defending. I hope to give some assists, and give some energy to the team.”

When asked if he was looking ahead to playing in the Premier League, he added: “Of course, it is a dream for me to play there and now I’m here.”

Manchester United thrashed Liverpool 4-0 in Erik ten Hag’s first game in charge of the Red Devils.

Manchester United started the game brilliantly with Jadon Sancho scoring the first goal of the game in the 12th minute.

Bruno Fernandes clipped in a cross which is cut out by Nat Phillips, but Isaac Mabaya could only knock the ball clear as far as the waiting Sancho, who confidently slots the ball into the far bottom right corner.

Fred made it 2-0 for Manchester United with the goal of the game. Standing just outside the box, the Brazilian midfielder chipped the ball over Alisson with the Liverpool goalkeeper stranded out of his goal.

Three minutes later in the 33rd minute, Anthony Martial made it 3-0 for United.

Uruguayan forward Facundo Pellistri made it 4-0 for Man United following a fine play by United centre-back Eric Bailly.
