Gabby Agbonlahor has called for Manchester United supporters to calm down following Tuesday’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool as pre-season ‘doesn’t matter’.

Agbonlahor also claimed Manchester United won’t beat Liverpool again until during pre-season next year.

“People talking about last night’s game, and some Man United fans are getting excited, but pre-season doesn’t matter,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“Honestly, players are at different stages of fitness, playing in Thailand, the weather, the humidity, it’s going to be hard to play in.

“So pre-season is about your fitness, isn’t it? It’s not about results at all. So I wouldn’t look into last night, and it probably could be the last time Man United beat Liverpool until next pre-season!”

Meanwhile, Agbonlahor has slammed Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Agbonlahor, Ronaldo doesn’t care about Manchester United and his legacy at the club.

Agbonlahor also believes Erik ten Hag will be happy with Ronaldo’s decision to leave the club.

“If there is something better for Ronaldo, he will go, he will drop Man United immediately, he doesn’t care,” he said.

“I’m sure it’s very disappointing for Man United fans and he’s ruining his legacy. When they needed him Man United fans will remember that he jumped ship.

“Even Ten Hag, he is probably buzzing deep down. He’s probably delighted because he wouldn’t have started him too much next season anyway.”

Ronaldo has refused to report for pre-season training after telling the club that he wants to leave this summer.
