According to Mike Verweij of Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf, Manchester United will complete a deal with Ajax for Lisandro Martinez on Thursday.
After an hour-long meeting on Wednesday between Manchester United and Ajax to discuss the transfer of Lisandro Martinez, Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar gave the greenlight for the player to leave Ajax.
Man United and Ajax have reportedly reached an agreement on a fee of around €55million including bonuses but the payment terms are yet to be agreed.
Martinez is reportedly keen on reuniting with Erik ten Hag at Man United and reportedly told Arsenal on Tuesday that he isn’t interested in joining them.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the transfer of Lisandro Martinez to Man United is now imminent.
Romano wrote: “Lisandro Martínez to Manchester United, it’s imminent! Board mission in Amsterdam revealed yesterday is described as ‘positive, successfull’.
“Long meeting with Ajax, agreement close for more than €50m.
“Final talks tomorrow: Manchester United hope to seal the deal in 24/48h.”
Romano revealed on Tuesday that Man United will meet with Ajax on Wednesday to discuss the transfer of Martinez.
Romano said: “Manchester United will meet with Ajax on Wednesday to discuss Lisandro Martínez deal. Negotiations now entering into key stages.
“Last proposal was turned down but Ajax are finally open to sell Lisandro at their conditions. Player pushing as he wants Premier League move soon.”
