Piers Morgan slams “rock bottom” Manchester United for celebrating 4-0 victory over Liverpool
Piers Morgan has slammed Manchester United fans for celebrating the 4-0 pre-season victory over Liverpool on Tuesday.
According to Piers Morgan, who is himself an Arsenal fan, Manchester United have reached rock bottom if the club now celebrates a pre-season victory.
Morgan told Talksport, “I think if it means anything to United fans then they really have reached rock bottom.
“None of these games mean anything other than keeping players in the right level of fitness heading into August.
“Liverpool are lightyears ahead of United and it must eat away at their soul, in the same way, watching Tottenham move ahead of Arsenal eats away at my soul.”
Jurgen Klopp revealed how Manchester United have changed under Erik ten Hag following Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool on Tuesday.
According to Klopp, Manchester United have adopted man-marking while defending under Ten Hag and it is quite aggressive.
“I saw a lot of good performances in moments, but no consistency, sometimes we were in a rush, the way United defended in a man-marking system, especially in midfield, we gave the ball away and they finished the moments off, that was obvious,” Klopp said.
“The way United is playing with this man-marking idea you need more flexibility, when Harvey [Elliott] came in the middle we were more dangerous.”
