Dutch media Frenkie de Jong would only leave Barcelona for German champions Bayern Munich, according to Spanish media outlet Sport.
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Barcelona to pay €75million guaranteed plus €10million in add-ons for the transfer of Frenkie de Jong but he has been reluctant to make the move to Old Trafford.
Barcelona are keen to sell the Dutchman to save on his high wages – but De Jong himself isn’t keen on leaving the Spanish side.
According to Sport, Bayern Munich’s style of play, the closer location to the Netherlands, the title chances and also their ambitions in the Champions League every season appeals to De Jong.
The move to Bayern Munich will also see De Jong reunite with his friend and former Ajax teammate, Matthijs de Ligt.
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has told the Manchester United board to keep pushing to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong despite the player’s reluctance to move to Old Trafford, according to The Guardian.
The report claims Ten Hag has told the Manchester United board to continue pushing for De Jong even if he is not signed before the new Premier League season begins.
