Manchester United are in talks with Marseille and Monaco for the transfer of Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly, according to Daily Mail.
Enquiries from West Ham, Fulham, Sevilla, AC Milan and Roma had focused on loan deals for Bailly but Marseille are willing to sign Bailly on a permanent deal.
The Red Devils are opposed to letting Bailly leave on loan, with the defender under contract until 2024, and are instead seeking a permanent departure.
Marseille are willing to sign Bailly permanently as the French club see the 28 year old Manchester United centre-back as the ideal player to strengthen their defence.
Bailly has made 113 appearances over six seasons at Old Trafford but has struggled with injuries and regular game time throughout his spell at the club. He featured just seven times in all competitions last term.
Bailly is now behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane and new signing Lisandro Martinez in the pecking order.
