I wish Manchester United appointed this manager – Gary Neville declares
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has revealed he wishes Manchester United had appointed Jurgen Klopp as manager.
Klopp was approached over taking charge at Old Trafford when Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down in 2013 before the Red Devils appointed David Moyes.
Klopp eventually moved to the Premier League in October 2015, instead to join Liverpool. Neville, though, can’t help but wish the German joined United.
“I can’t go back in time but I wish they had appointed Jurgen Klopp,” he told the UMM YouTube channel.
“He’s been supported at Liverpool by a brilliant backroom team that have got the players in for him and every manager at United has struggled, but he’s an exceptional manager, of course you wish we would have appointed him.”
