Why Anthony Martial has to be more selfish – Louis Saha
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Anthony Martial has to be more selfish if Manchester United want to compete this season.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Saha said: “Anthony is a great, great player but I don’t think that he represents the guarantee of 25 goals.
“There are some games where the player that we know needs a bit more aggression in himself because he has all of the quality which you can see.
“He came on against Liverpool without the minutes under his belt but reacted well and managed to get a great pass to Rashford.
“He’s got the quality, there’s no doubt about it, but it’s about consistency and maybe that’s why they’re looking for another striking option.
“If Cristiano is leaving because there’s is the need for a killer up front, someone who is going to have that anger – a Van Nistelrooy type, where they’re happy to score the tap-ins and scrappy goals and do the things that will make the team believe when they really need it if they get one chance in a game.
“That’s where Martial would have to change at the top and be more selfish in a way.”
