Manchester United chief Murtough convinced Ten Hag to give this Manchester United star a chance

According to The Athletic via Tribal Football, Manchester United football director John Murtough urged manager Erik ten Hag to reconsider selling defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace for £50million in the summer of 2019, has fallen behind Diogo Dalot in pecking order and was at one point in the summer available for transfer.

The Athletic claims Ten Hag was ready to offload Wan-Bissaka this summer, with the 24-year-old attracting interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham.

However, Murtough is said to have stepped in and asked him to keep the player.

Wan-Bissaka is yet to start a game for Manchester United this season but has made one substitute appearance for the club.
