Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo reacted angrily to being substituted in the 70th minute against Newcastle United on Sunday with the Red Devils searching for a goal.

Ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has now responded to Ronaldo’s angry reaction to being substituted.

Ten Hag said: “I think no player is happy when he [is taken] off, and especially not Ronaldo, I understand that. As long as it is [done] in a quite a normal way, [I have] no problem with that.

“He is, of course, convinced that he should stay on and he should score a goal. That is why he is that good.”
