Cristiano Ronaldo was axed from the Manchester United squad ahead of Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and was also excluded from first-team training.
Ronaldo was handed the punishment after he refused to come on as substitute in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur while also leaving Old Trafford before the final whistle.
When asked to comment on the situation, Bruno Fernandes told Sky Sports:
“Now we don’t talk about that, we keep it inside. We have to deal with that inside. And no one else has to know what we think what we want or what will go on going to happen because also us – we don’t know.
“So the most important thing for everyone, including Cristiano, is that the team wins and I’m pretty sure of that.”
