Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has ruled out a return to Manchester United amid reports linking him to the director of football job.

The 51 year old is currently the CEO at Dutch giants Ajax and reports claim Manchester United want him to return to the club as director of football.

However, the former goalkeeper has no intention of leaving Ajax just yet, having recently signed a contract until 2025.

“It’s never been that close,” he told The Times.

“I have a good relationship with the board and I had a fantastic six years in Manchester, but I’m not finished here yet.”
