Manchester United legend Gary Neville has singled out Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen as two players that should have performed better in the draw against Chelsea.

Gary Neville said on the Gary Neville Podcast: “For 30-35 minutes, it became pretty obvious after five minutes that Manchester United’s midfield was absolutely dominating Chelsea’s.

“That two that Chelsea had were really struggling, Jorginho and Loftus-Cheek, and that was sort of the real fundamental part of the game.

“But when you’ve got a game by the scruff of the neck in possession like United did – they needed then to go and get the goal, but they didn’t do that.

“Casemiro was getting on the ball, Eriksen and Fernandes were in pockets, and I thought Eriksen and Fernandes with more quality at the top of their games should have done better in that period of the game.

“They’ll never get a simpler game at Stamford Bridge than they did in that first part – Chelsea couldn’t get near them.”
