Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer but a transfer failed to materialise.

With De Jong struggling to get game time in the Barcelona team in the early weeks of the season, there was speculation that a deal could perhaps be resurrected either in January or next summer.

However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, De Jong has ruled out a move away from Barcelona in January.

De Jong has been a regular for Barcelona in the last few weeks and isn’t interested in leaving the Spanish side in January. The report adds that the 25-year-old is ‘clear and firm’ in his stance on his Barcelona future – a big blow to United and fellow suitors.
