Man United and Chelsea battle for defender with 7 goals and 12 assists

Premier League rivals Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the race for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to a report on The Sun.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag have heavily relied on Diogo Dalot and wants the club to sign a right-back in January.

Frimpong, 21, has impressed for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the German club from Celtic in January 2021.

He has already racked up 64 appearances for the German side, contributing seven goals and 12 assists.

His performances for Bayer Leverkusen have caught the attention of both Manchester United and Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.

Frimpong is currently fully focused on making the Netherlands squad for the World Cup.

He is yet to receive a cap for the national team, but has made four appearances for the U21s.
