Ten Hag tells Manchester United to shun Frenkie de Jong and sign this midfielder instead
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has put Jude Bellingham ahead of Frenkie de Jong at the top of Manchester United’s midfield shortlist, according to a report on The Mirror via Metro.
The Red Devils pushed to sign De Jong from Barcelona in the summer but the Dutch midfielder was reluctant to make the move to Old Trafford.
Despite Manchester United signing Casemiro from Real Madrid for £70million, it was believed Manchester United were still interested in De Jong and will make a move for the Barcelona midfielder in the future.
However, while Ten Hag remains keen on strengthening his midfield next summer, the Dutch tactician is now keen on signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
The report also adds that Ten Hag has been promised even more funds to bolster his squad next summer and the decision over Bellingham was made by the United manager and the club’s football director John Murtough.
