Ten Hag explains why playing against Barcelona is an advantage for Manchester United

With Manchester United finishing second in our Europa League group, the Red Devils have two extra games to play early next year, the Europa League play-off tie against teams dropping out from the Champions League.

The Red Devils could face teams like Barcelona and Ajax and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag insists it’s an opportunity for the squad to develop.

Ten Hag said: “We definitely have two extra games to cover in this hard season.

“We have a lot of games, that’s clear, but also it’s an opportunity for this squad to develop and to get into the process.

“Players like to play matches, rather than training, so, in that matter, it is also an advantage.”
