Casemiro called Manchester United Football Director John Murtough after Manchester United’s 4-0 thrashing against Brentford at the start of the season, according to Daily Mirror.

Casemiro was still a Real Madrid player at the time and he assured Murtough that he was still eager to join Manchester United despite the humiliating defeat to Brentford.

Casemiro was reportedly confident Manchester United will have a good season under Erik ten Hag and he was also confident he will improve the squad with his qualities.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has revealed he was surprised Casemiro left Real Madrid for Manchester United.

Kroos told the Universo Valdano on Spanish TV (via the Mirror ): “I was surprised that Casemiro left. It is true that there were rumours but there are always rumours and often nothing happens.

“But when he told me he was leaving, I was sad, I started to remember all the years I spent with him and all we achieved together.”
