Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Manchester United can sign PSV’s Cody Gakpo for €50 million in January.
The PSV forward was a transfer target for Manchester United in the summer and has continued his impressive form this season, scoring 9 goals and providing 12 assists in just 13 league games.
PSV rejected Leeds United’s bid of €30 million + €11 million in bonuses in the summer for Gakpo, which means the Dutch club won’t let the player leave for anything less than €50 million in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Barcelona boss Xavi believes Barcelona have been handed the ‘most difficult opponent’ after they were drawn against Manchester United in the Europa League play-offs.
“It is the most difficult opponent once again. But we will look forward to it,” said Xavi.
“They are a historic side, they have grown a lot with Ten Hag, they have great players. It’s the worst draw we could have got. Once again. No luck.”
