The Red Devils have identified 26 year old Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae as a potential replacements for Harry Maguire next summer.
The South Korean joined Napoli from Fenerbahce for £15million as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly, who left the Italian club for Chelsea.
Kim reportedly has a release clause of €50million in his Napoli contract but it can only be triggered for a 15-day period next summer.
Napoli sporting director Cristian Giuntoli refused to divulge if the amount mentioned was accurate, but confirmed the 15-day window to sign the centre-back in the summer.
“It is only valid for foreign clubs and it is accessible in a window in July for just 15 days,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
When asked about the specific value, Giuntoli added: “It is variable, it depends on the revenues of the potential buyer. It is all theoretical given that we are already thinking about changing these terms.”
Kim has impressed since joining Napoli in the summer and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag reportedly wants him to partner Lisandro Martinez in a new-look backline next season.
