Manchester United to sack Cristiano Ronaldo and sign this La Liga star as replacement
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is keen on signing a forward in January with Manchester United set to sack Cristiano Ronaldo following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
According to Fichajes via The Sun, Manchester United have identified Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams as replacement for Ronaldo in January.
Williams has impressed in his young career and his form for Bilbao was recognised with a call-up to Spain’s World Cup squad.
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Spanish side Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in signing the 20 year old forward.
Bilbao are believed to value Williams at around £35million, but that fee could rise if he impresses at the World Cup with Spain.
Williams broke into Bilbao’s team last season and made 34 LaLiga appearances but failed to score or register an assist.
He has improved significantly this campaign with three goals and four assists in 13 games.
