Apple are prepared to make a bid to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family that would make the Red Devils the richest club in the world, according to Daily Star.

Founded in 1976, Apple are now the world’s biggest company by market capitalisation, boasting a mind-boggling net worth of £2trillion.

Apple’s value dwarfs that belonging to the respective owners of Manchester City, Newcastle United and Paris Saint Germain. Apple could acquire Man Utd over 300 times and still have change left over.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is keen to explore the opportunities owning United could provide, which may include funding a new state-of-the-art stadium.
