‘I always looked up to him’ – Marcus Rashford thanks his idol

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has called ex-team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo ‘one of his idols’ and has wished the Portugal international all the best following his Manchester United exit.

Ronaldo’s second spell with Manchester United came to an abrupt end last week, when the 37-year-old mutually agreed to end his contract with the club following comments made during his controversial interview with Piers Morgan earlier this month.

Rashford said: “It has been an unbelievable experience to play with him. He is one of my idols and someone I always looked up to.

“It’s something I can keep with me forever, I wish him all the best and we want to thank him for the things he’s done for Man United.”
