Erik ten Hag identify £52million La Liga star as long-term successor of Casemiro
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has identified Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as a long-term successor of Casemiro, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Ten Hag has followed the progress of the 23 year old Real Sociedad midfielder this season.
According to the report, Erik Ten Hag was impressed by the Spaniard’s performance in the Europa League against United and has given Manchester United the greenlight to pay the £52m mentioned in his release clause.
Zubimendi has been capped five times by Spain but is not in their World Cup squad for Qatar. He has scored once and added two assists in 16 appearances for Sociedad this season.
