Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford insists he will volunteer to take a penalty here at the World Cup despite being racially abused after missing at last year’s European Championship final.
Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were all racially abused after missing from the spot in a tense shoot-out which saw Italy crowned European champions.
“I have no doubts about taking a penalty. I’ve missed a penalty before,” Rashford told reporters.
“You never want to miss a penalty. I feel like it’s a great opportunity for forwards, especially, to score goals and obviously they are big moments and as an individual I’ve always been comfortable and I enjoy being in big moments so, you know, for me, I’m hoping that we get to take another penalty in the tournament.”
