Manchester United have expressed interest in signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton this summer, according to Daily Mail.
Lavia, 19, is enjoying a breakthrough season at St Mary’s, having joined the Saints in a £14m move from Manchester City last summer.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham remains Manchester United’s first-choice target this summer but the Red Devils have identified Lavia as an ideal alternative.
Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in signing the 19 year old midfielder in the summer following his impressive performances for struggling Southampton.
Manchester City have the option to buy back the midfielder for £40million but not until the summer of 2024.
