Will Manchester United appeal Casemiro red card? Manchester United make decision
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro was shown a straight red card, his second of the season, in Manchester United’s goalless draw against Southampton on Sunday.
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United will not appeal against the red card received by Casemiro against Southampton.
Casemiro was dismissed in the 34th minute having initially been shown a yellow card for his challenge on Carlos Alcaraz, before referee Anthony Taylor upgraded it to a red card following a VAR review.
United have decided not to make an appeal to the Premier League and the midfielder will serve a four-match ban, in games against Fulham, Newcastle, Brentford and Everton, because it was his second red card of the season.
Manchester United decided against lodging an appeal because they did not believe there was a strong enough case to be made for the decision to be overturned.
