Fred reveals this player is set to join Manchester United
Former Manchester United midfielder Fred has revealed Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is set to join Manchester United.
Bayindir looks set to become the fourth major signing at United, arriving in a €5million (£4.29m) deal. The 25-year-old will replace Dean Henderson, who is expected to join Crystal Palace permanently after a £20m deal was agreed.
Fred joined Fenerbahce in a €15m deal earlier this summer, making his debut against Samsunspor last week. The Brazilian may only have been teammates with Bayindir for a matter of weeks, but speaking during his delayed unveiling press conference, appeared to confirm the goalkeeper’s imminent exit.
“I wished Altay good luck when he left,” Fred said.
“He’s going to a great team. I gave him some suggestions about places where he could live and I told him it rains a lot! I think Altay is going to be very happy at Manchester United.”
