Manchester United open talks to sign Tottenham Hotspur star

Manchester United have made ‘initial’ contact with Tottenham over the signing of midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to Sky Sports via Metro.

The Dane, 28, has two years to run on his deal at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but he’s surplus to requirements under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham accepted a reported £30m bid from Atletico Madrid for Hojbjerg earlier this summer but a deal failed to materialise.

With Mason Mount set to miss a month of action, United are keen on signing another midfielder and reports on Monday claimed the Red Devils had been made aware of Hojbjerg’s availability.
