New Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund could make his Manchester United debut against Arsenal according to Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand.

The striker has been named in the Denmark squad for the September internationals, suggesting he is fit to play some part in United’s clash against the Gunners this Sunday.

The Red Devils signed Hojlund from Atalanta this summer in a deal worth £72million but has been stuck on the sidelines with a back injury, with Erik ten Hag recently saying he was ‘near’ returning to the pitch.

Denmark manager Hjulmand, speaking on Tuesday upon announcing his squad, has suggested that Hojlund will play against Arsenal, claiming he has spoken to Ten Hag about the 20-year-old’s game time.

He said: “I have some clear agreements with the club. He [Hojlund] should preferably get some minutes so that we can see that he’s there.

“He lacks game time, that’s clear, but he’s going to play a role [for Denmark], so we’ll have to see what he can do.”
