According to the Times, German champions Bayern Munich won’t pay Manchester United’s asking price for Scotland international midfielder Scott McTominay.

Bayern Munich are interested in signing McTominay and Manchester United are reportedly demanding a fee of around £40million to £45million for the midfielder.

Bayern Munich have identified McTominay as their first choice option as they look to bring in a new holding midfielder before the transfer window closes.

McTominay is no longer guaranteed a regular place in the starting lineup at United, as demonstrated by the fact that he has made two short substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

Scotland international McTominay has two years remaining on his contract at United, with the club having the option to extend his deal by a further year.
