Man United should be going for the best players – Gabriel Agbonlahor
Gabriel Agbonlahor has slammed Manchester United’s interest in signing Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella.
With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured, Manchester United want to sign Cucurella on loan from Chelsea.
Cucurella moved to west London in a £62m deal from Brighton last summer but the Spaniard have endured a tough start to life at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old has been an unused substitute in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far this season and now could be on his way to Old Trafford.
Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “Erik ten Hag might be about to get Cucurella, but the Cucurella I saw last season wasn’t good enough.
“On the ball he was erratic, he wasn’t making the right decisions and he was giving the ball away.
“His positioning wasn’t great. Maybe he deserves a second chance at Manchester United.
“I just don’t see Manchester United as being that team that are going for players Chelsea don’t want and players that Tottenham don’t wan’t.
“When you think of Manchester United, you think they should be going after the best players.”
