Luton Town are on the verge of signing Manchester United defender Teden Mengi, according to Metro.

After conceding seven goals in defeats to Brighton and Chelsea, Luton Town are keen on strengthening their defence and have identified Mengi as an ideal signing.

The 21-year-old centre-back has made just two senior appearances for United, coming off the bench in the Champions League against BSC Young Boys and against LASK in the Europa League.

Mengi has featured more heavily for United’s U21 and U18 teams and has also spent two loans in the Championship with Birmingham City and Derby County.
