Former Chelsea star snubbed offer from Manchester United and joined Barcelona instead
According to a report on Daily Mail, former Chelsea star Joao Felix snubbed offers from Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa, with the Portugal international opting to join Barcelona on loan.
The Portuguese international has endured a turbulent spell since his record-busting £113million move to Atletico Madrid and gradually fallen out of favour with his manager, Diego Simeone.
Felix joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid on loan in January but didn’t do enough to convince new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino to keep him at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool is thought to have prepared a swap deal involving striker Darwin Nunez moving in the other direction, and Manchester United were also interested in exercising a loan move for the player.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa were said to be leading the race for the player in July, but failed to secure Felix’s services for their 2023/24 campaign.
Felix also snubbed a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
