Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has praised United boss Erik ten Hag for helping him return to top form this season.

Before the Dutchman arrived at the club, the player’s Old Trafford future looked bleak as he was expected to leave during the summer.

However, he appears to have bounced back to his best, as he is Ten Hag’s preferred right-back option for the time being, ahead of Diogo Dalot.

The former Crystal Palace man has spoken of his manager’s help in improving his game.

“It’s been good, especially for myself. I’ve learned a lot under him,” he told club media in August.

“And there’s more to come, more improvement to be done. So, yeah, I’m happy. He’s helped the team. You can see the team’s transition has changed.

“I think before, it was just being left to play the game. But since I’ve been under him, the manager has taught me a lot. And you just want to improve more and keep learning more, especially from someone like him. So I’ve enjoyed that.”

In his battle for the right-back position with Diogo Dalot, he said:

“I think it helps a lot when you have someone competing for the same position as you. It pushes you more. We both want to play and we’ll push and fight each other to get there. And that will help in the long run.”
