‘It’s one hell of a gamble’ – Liverpool legend criticises Manchester United big money signing of Rasmus Hojlund
Pundit Graeme Souness has labelled Manchester United’s signing of Rasmus Hojlund as one ‘hell of a gamble’.
The Danish striker moved to the Theatre of Dreams during the summer transfer from Seria A side Atalanta in a deal worth £72m.
Reds legend Souness is unconvinced the player will make the United team better and feels the player is not at the required level needed to lead the line for the club.
“I don’t think Manchester United are going to be any better than they were last season,” Graeme Souness began.
“They’ve spent £72m on a young centre-forward in Rasmus Hojlund, who has not got a great goalscoring record.
“He played 34 games for Atalanta and only hit the back of the net 10 times. Now he’s come to a league where it’s really tough to get goals.
“I might be wrong but that’s one hell of a gamble for somebody that doesn’t have a proven track record.”
