According to journalist Nicolo Schira (h/t the Sun), Manchester United star Donny van de Beek could leave the club ‘this week’ amid serious interest in the player from Turkish clubs.
The 26-year-old has been continuously linked with a move away from Old Trafford throughout the summer, although no deal has materialised so far.
Further details of the report claim that Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are said to be in a battle to secure the services of the Dutch midfielder, and the player could seal a move before the Turkish transfer window shuts down on September 15.
The former Ajax star’s future at Old Trafford appears bleak, as manager Erik ten Hag has left him out of the Champions League squad, which reduces his chances of playing at the club.
The player has endured a torrid time since joining the club from Ajax in 2020.
Meanwhile, negotiations between Galatasaray and the player for a possible loan move are in progress, while Fenerbahce intend to rival their move for the Dutchman in the closing stages of the transfer window.
Hopefully, a move to Turkey could help Van de Beek regain his confidence, potentially win trophies, before considering a return to a top European club in the future.
