Manchester United receive massive boost ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash against Brighton
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has received a timely boost ahead of our Premier League clash against Brighton this weekend.
The Dutch tactician will have Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez available for selection despite the fact the player limped out of United’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal before the international break with a foot injury.
It was the second time in four matches that Martinez has had to come off, following a three-month injury lay-off with a metatarsal injury. With Raphael Varane already sidelined, having the Argentine back in contention is a big boost for the club.
The player missed his nation’s win against Ecuador over the weekend, and they face Bolivia in their next World Cup qualifier. Ahead of Saturday’s game against Brighton, Martinez has suggested he’s fit to play.
‘Ready for what’s coming,’ Martinez wrote on Instagram, accompanying the caption with a Bolivia flag.
Martinez has participated in full training with the side in the last two days. Brighton visit Old Trafford on Saturday in their first trip to Old Trafford since the Seagulls beat United on Ten Hag’s first game in charge in August 2022.
