England boss Gareth Southgate has slammed the critics of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.
The Three Lions gaffer is not pleased with the ridiculous treatment the player has been subjected to for a long time now.
Showing his support for Harry Maguire, Gareth Southgate said: “It’s a consequence of ridiculous treatment of him for a long period of time.
“It’s a joke, I’ve never known a player treated like he is, not by the Scottish fans, by our own commentators, pundits, whatever it is. It’s beyond anything I’ve ever seen.”
Meanwhile, Maguire endured another poor outing on Tuesday that culminated in an own goal against Scotland which saw him occasionally booed by Scottish fans in a game England won convincingly.
