Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has revealed he has mixed emotions when being made Manchester United captain.

The Portuguese took over the armband from Harry Maguire at the start of the new season as Red devils boss Erik ten Hag decided a change was needed.

When asked what went through his mind when he was given the Manchester United captaincy, Bruno Fernandes told club media: “A mix of emotions.

“I wanted to cry at the same time, with joy of course. You dream of these things, but you never think you can achieve them.

“Portugal and Manchester United have a connection through Cristiano [Ronaldo], so for me having looked up to him as a player and then getting to this place, I am extremely happy.

“Being the captain of this club is above my dreams.”
