‘We need to improve’ – Erik ten Hag reflects on another loss to Brighton
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was positive about the team’s performance in our 3-1 home defeat to Brighton on Saturday.
The Dutch tactician admitted his disappointment with the result, but believes his new 4-4-2 tactical system worked against the Seagulls and that the teams need to improve.
When asked if he believes his new 4-4-2 (diamond) system worked in Man United’s 3-1 loss to Brighton, Erik ten Hag said: “The new system worked? Absolutely.
“The first 20 minutes were very good. We have to stick to the plan because it worked well. We had quite a few chances.
“Very disappointed with the result. We played quite well in the first half with many chances, but we had two setbacks, starting with their goal and then the disallowed goal.
“We have to analyze this match and see where we need to improve and then we will think about the next match.”
