Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has hailed the impact of youngster Hannibal Mejbri as one of United’s biggest positives in our 3-1 loss to Brighton.

The youngster came on in the second half, replacing Casemiro, and was one of the best players on the pitch.

Hannibal scored a brilliant long-range effort to salvage United’s reputation, but it wasn’t enough as most of the players underperformed against the Seagulls.

After the game, Erik ten Hag gave his verdict on the young midfielder, as he said: “He did what we brought him in to do. He had an impact, brought energy.”

Hannibal is yet to start a game for the club this season, and it remains to be seen if his thrilling cameo can change that going forward.
