Leroy Sane reveals what Bayern Munich boss said about Manchester United’s tactics
Manchester United suffered a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in Germany in our first Champions League game of the season.
According to Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane, Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel described Manchester United under Erik ten Hag as a counter-attacking team.
“The coach said it beforehand, they play a lot on the counter-attack,” Sane told DAZN. “Especially when we were leading, we should have moved back more. We did well, but not for more than 90 minutes, then it would be easier for our defenders.
“We have to be aware that we are controlling the game. That has to come from us, we address it too. We have to become aware of this. At the end of the day, we’re delighted to win our first Champions League game of the season and get our first three points.
“The game was a bit wild. For the fans, it must have been fun with so many goals. Going forward it was great, but we also have to make fewer mistakes as a collective. There were a few too many tonight.
“When we’re 2-0 up, we need to bring a bit more calm into games to control matches.”
