Thomas Tuchel shares his thoughts on Bayern Munich’s Champions League victory over Manchester United
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed his excitement over his side’s deserved Champions League 4-3 victory over Manchester United.
Despite the game being a high-scoring affair, the German tactician was pleased with the result, and believes it will help boost the confidence of his team.
Tuchel said: “It was a bit paradoxical because our second half was better than our first, but we lost the second and won the first. Tonight’s result was big for our confidence and development, but there are still things to work on.
“We’re posing a threat in every game, creating chances in every game, but we were very reserved in the opening exchanges and lucky not to fall behind. The goals helped up establish some confidence and fluidity. We’re not 100% happy so far, but the reactions to adversity tonight were very good.
“It is a deserved win. Every win in the Champions League is a big point. Every win against Manchester United is a big point. We didn’t have the rhythm that we wanted and, in the phase after we made it 3-1, we could have killed the game off. But we reacted well to every setback.”
