Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has explained why he had to substitute Sergio Reguilon in our 1-0 win over Burnley.

Reguilon was having a good game, but had to be taken off the pitch.

The Dutch tactician has allayed fears of an injury to the Spaniard when questioned if he was injured, but rather revealed that it was due to the player being ill before the game.

He told TNT Sport: “Reguilon was ill. It says something about his character and spirit. He wanted to play and contribute.

“Of course it’s (injuries) a concern. You have so many injuries. You bring players in like Holjund and you can’t bring them in slowly. They’re not used to playing together. Like Hannibal who did a perfect job.

“Hopefully it gives us confidence. It’s only one win. Tuesday is the next game.”
